It has been a few months of not fishing which we didn't like, but we are back and boy we have missed going fishing. This time we were at Lake Gregory in Crestline Ca. This is a small lake located in the San Bernardino Mountains. Lake Gregory is usually stocked by the Department of Fish and Game with Rainbow and brown Trout. The lake is open year around. The lake is at about 4500 feet in elevation. We got there about 7 A.M. Saturday the 28th of December. The fishing was a little slow. The fish looked active but they were not biting. We tried different bait lures, Power Bait, night crawlers, and meal worms. Finally they stared hitting on the meal worms. We needed to be paying attention to our rods because the trout would nibble at the bait but not swallow it. When we attached the meal worm to the hook we needed to make sure the tip of the hook was towards the tail end of the meal worm. That way when the trout would nibble on the meal worm we would tug on our rods and set the hook on the trout's mouth.
Here are some pictures of the lake.
