Another excellent fishing weekend on the Upper Kern River

This past weekend of April 26-28 2013 we went on our yearly camping trip to the Kern River In Kernville Ca. The weather was very nice, the trout fishing was excellent . We started at the Power Plant and worked our way down to McNally's located in Fairview 15 miles north of Kernville. That's when we hit the mother load. That evening we fished next to James Campground at another of our favorite fishng spots and it was fish on once again.

The trout were caught on PowerBait and Gulp the colors were Chartreuse, Purple, and of course Chunky Cheese. We used 6 lb. main line,  tied on to a small swivel, tied on to a 2lb. leader, and tied on to a small treble hook. (the dough seem to stay on longer in the current).

We stood at the Rivernook Campground. This is a very nice place to stay weather you tent camp or RV.
